Metro Last Light continues from the atmospheric and immersive Metro 2033 and nothing has been lost in this brilliant sequel, much has been improved in fact.
The first thing you will notice is how great the game looks, so much detail has been put in to make Last Light feel realistic, from the pictures on the walls of people rooms to the visual decay, grafitti and the lighting. It really has that lived in feel.

Not as simple to implement as you might expect, says 4A Games.
"We're aware the community have been asking for a 'Field of View' slider for Metro: Last Light. Unfortunately, this was not as simple a thing to implement as it might appear!" wrote 4A on Steam.
"The main reason for maintaining a fixed FOV is because we have 3D elements like the watch and weapon ammo that need to remain visible.
"In addition, all the game's first-person cut scenes and cinematics and each and every animation involving Artyom's hands - idle weapon animations, reloads, ladder climbing, melee attacks etc, - were created assuming the same, fixed field of...

Game itself out on Friday in the UK.
Once again, a publisher has thrown my brain into terrible confusion by releasing a "launch trailer" for a game that isn't out yet. Oh, I know Metro: Last Light is out in the US, but this is the "UK Edition" video we're talking about. What is wrong with the world? And why must everybody rip off the Inception soundtrack?

In the year 2034, a nuclear war has turned the world into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. In Moscow, the tunnels of the Metro have become a new home for the former inhabitants of the city. Within the catacombs, they fight for their survival, fending off hordes of hideous mutants born from the toxic atmosphere, as well as other factions desperate to take control of what little hospitable land remains. As they fight, they also search for a doomsday device that could be the key to their victory. A civil war is inevitable. During these dark hours, the players will embody Artyom, and become the last light for all of mankind.

Metro: Last Light is a damn good game but it squanders what it has going on for it. While it might technically speaking be a more solid gaming experience than its predecessor it seems to suffer in the game design department which is a shame. That said this is still an amazing game that anyone who enjoys shooters and / or horror titles should give a try.
